After confirming the performance of international soul-jazz star Mario Biondi on August 8, summer in Poreč is heating up even more with the announcement of PHILIP LASSITER, an 11-time Grammy Award winner and the musical genius behind the sound of one of the greatest artists of all time – Prince.

As part of the Poreč Summer Project, Philip Lassiter is hitting the stage – a musical mastermind, trumpet player, and producer who has helped shape the sound of legends like Prince, Ariana Grande, and Timbaland.

This internationally acclaimed artist brings explosive energy, powerful brass, and a fusion of soul, funk, and jazz. The audience can expect a genre-defying concert experience in one of the most beautiful summer settings on the Adriatic – under the stars, by the sea, in the heart of Poreč.

Philip Lassiter is an American trumpeter, composer, producer, and arranger with an incredible musical résumé and 11 Grammy Awards to his name. Born in Alabama, Lassiter grew up surrounded by gospel and jazz, deeply influencing his unique sound – a blend of soul, jazz, funk, and gospel harmonies.

A key milestone in his career was his role as horn section leader and producer for the legendary Prince, contributing to iconic performances and recordings that defined a modern era of funk music. His artistry has also led him to work with a wide range of major stars including Ariana Grande, Timbaland, Kirk Franklin, Jill Scott, Roberta Flack, Fred Hammond, Kelly Rowland, Al Jarreau, Fantasia, and many more.

Beyond his studio work, Philip Lassiter is renowned for his high-energy live shows with his international band, featuring top-tier musicians from around the globe. His concerts are a thrilling mix of grooves, brass brilliance, improvisation, and infectious stage presence – a truly unforgettable live experience.

He currently lives between the U.S. and Europe and performs at some of the world’s most prestigious jazz festivals and venues.
