Tar Festival
The words of a song interpreted by a popular local singer go: “Tonight is our party, tonight we drink wine… If the old places of Tar and Vabriga have some similarity with the modern tourism resort Lanterna, than this is – partying. Village parties, the primordial ones, known to everyone, parties when all become alike, all one big happy family.
The party that takes place in Tar during mid September is one of the most popular parties in Istria. The most known party on Lanterna is the one held in Solaris with a wonderful fancy dress show. The Tar party is known for its traditonal donkey race, alegoric and masked kid’s parade, extraordinary culinary specialities, good music, entertainment for young and mature, popular shopping of silly things, market, amusement park…
